Glamour & Park – Introducing Ameena

I finally got it together and did a shoot of my own yaay!

My good friend Ameena came to the rescue at very short notice when I realised I really had to take advantage of the good weather and I have to say it was an awesome shoot.

I wanted the chance to practice with my new 85mm f1.8 lens and put into practice some tips I’d picked up. The model looked stunning in red and it made for a very glamorous shoot.

The shoot was located in Burgess Park – my new favourite place hahah – during late afternoon. We went through different light transitions (sunny, overcast looking, and golden hour) which I wasn’t expecting and I found shooting during the overcast like period most challenging as the pictures came out quite flat at which point I started using flash! Although unplanned, I was very fortunate to get some golden hour light too which I was very happy about as I had the chance to experience what it was like shooting in this light.

This definitely was the best shoot I’ve done so far and I love the pictures. I still have much to work on though like controlling exposure and sharpness because I found out of camera a lot of pictures weren’t as sharp as I thought; I know it’s something to do with my focus and recompose method so I need to drill into that a bit more. All in all, a great learning experience for me with resulting beautiful pictures.

What do you think?
