Haaai ^_^
It’s been a while hasn’t it ? (I say this every time!). I haven’t been shooting much because the British weather hasn’t been very inspiring to be honest neither has there been a stack load of events. A friend of mine turned 21 (wwwooohoo!) recently and of course I had to snap snap snap.
Before we zoom off to pics (ha!), I should probably mention I’ve acquired a 35mm (EF, F2) lens. I was getting increasingly frustrated with the fact that using the 50mm on my crop body was essentially giving me a FoV (Field of View) of around 80-85mm which is fine outdoors but can be quite tight indoors. Going full frame at this point (I would love to eventually) was not an option so I did the next best thing. I wanted something that would give me a 50mm-ish FOV so the 35mm was just the ticket and boy oh boy it made for smoother capturing of the day.
You’ll note (if you’ve read my blog previously) that I’ve expressed frustration at covering events because I’ve found it so hard to control for everything. Turns out having an ETTL flash and this 35mm lens (and of course previous experience) did just the trick ! I could actually think of what I was trying to shoot as opposed to having to constantly think about my settings or why I wasn’t getting the exact shot I wanted. I was quite pleased with the results and as usual I had the chance of refining my LR presets.
Anywho pictures now!
