Guess what? I just discovered the beauty of tone curves!
It’s winter and it’s cold so I haven’t been out as much taking pics which means I’ve been indoors working on my post-production skills. I’ve seen a lot of pics which have a fade / matte colour to them that I really like. It took a while and some Googling until I realised the secret to it was tone curves. Take a look at what I mean:
I’ve also been playing around with black and white pics. I wasn’t a fan previously but teamed with the tone curves, I have definitely come round!

Oh and I invested in new tools; namely a reflector, wireless flash triggers / shutter release and ETTL flash (as opposed to manual flash). I’m really excited about these and I’m sure these will be put to good use shortly so stay tuned 😉
